“After hearing about the benefits of yoga for years, I have always been curious about the practice. I did not think it would match my fitness style; being a former student of high impact aerobics classes full of loud and intense music. With its quiet, precise movements, yoga draws your focus away from your busy, chaotic day and toward calm as you move your body through poses that require balance and concentration. It definitely has changed my outlook on a balanced workout regimen.  As a long distance runner, I have definitely seen the benefits after only a few months in the hot room: stress reduction, improved balance and flexibility, and better control of a healthy diet. As a skeptic, I did not believe it could change your eating habits, but it does. I have cravings for fruits and vegetables and no longer crave unhealthy choices.  No matter how tired I feel after work or how sore I am after a long run, I feel the benefits of hot yoga on my sense of well-being.
